Lucy in Florida – Day 11
Happy 30th Birthday Amy!!! Last night Laura, Nicholle and I decorated Amy’s entire desk with birthday streamers and Laura bought her a huge chocolate cake which we surprised Amy with on her arrival to the office today. The team really have a family vibe here just like Kru which is so nice to see and to be a part of.
After the birthday celebrations Vinny visited the team in ‘The Pit’ (the name for the team’s space in the office) and went round dishing out the morning high fives! This is just one of the greetings he gives the team each day; I love this office and the friendly atmosphere!
This afternoon I sat with the team and presented on aspects on Kru Live’s Sales and Marketing. Although this is not my expertise I was able to give the team an insight and brief overview of our marketing strategies, our website and also communication. I also introduced the team to our Entertainment Division Kru Talent and showcased our new explainer video available to view on the Kru Talent website which the Victory team seemed really impressed with.
After work I went with Nicholle to her apartment which I can safely say is double the size of my flat in London; all the apartments or ‘condos’ are so huge here and there is so much space it makes me feel as though I am living in a cupboard! I met her tiny Chihuahua puppies she and her lovely housemate Caiti rescued called Winne and Bogie!
It’s the final day in the Victory HQ tomorrow; this past week especially has flown by which is a shame as I feel as though I am now settled with the new friends I have made at the agency! Bring on Friday and the dedicated ‘Bunga Bunga’ style ‘Pot Luck’ lunch…
Frankie in London – Day 11
Thursday started off with more rumblings from Shrek and Fiona upstairs, who I NOW suspected had all of their ogre friends over during the middle of the night. Fast forward to the office – Thursday, I had my presentation on Victory office structure, workflow, methods of operation, etc. which was a little more of an elaborate version of the previous one for the staff bookers. As I said earlier, most procedures are fairly parallel to how Kru works, with just minor differences. One huge difference would be that staff bookers at Kru work with different account executives and account managers (depending on which client needs staff in a particular area) instead of on one account team.
After a examining a little more office method, Sophie, from the booking team, and I filmed her interview for my ‘’Meet The Kru Team’’ segment. I’ve done about six interviews so far and each of them include two work questions about procedure and day-to-day tasks; and one fun question to get to know each colleague. Most people in the office are from various areas spanning all over Europe, each having a unique story to tell! Upon arriving back to the office, Sarah from Marketing informed me that Exhibitor Magazine and Event Magazine had written an article on Lucy and I, explaining the details of our exchange program!
After work, some of us went to the Soho area to check out an art gallery (that served free beer). After seeing some of the cool pieces on display, we then hopped to a couple of the pubs across the street – that way I got to know my way around that area of London.
Today will be my last day in the office and needless to say, it’s gone ridiculously fast. I’m most definitely coming back to visit sooner rather than later and like I said earlier – I may be moving here. Yeah, that’s happening. It’s been decided. Stay tuned for Friday’s post!
