What is your role in the business, and what are your main responsibilities?
Client Relationship Director - that means I am responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our clients, understanding their needs and ensuring that they get the best possible experience and results when working with Kru.
Can you walk us through a typical day in your role, from the moment you arrive at work to when you leave?
My days are incredibly varied and dynamic. It sounds cliché, but honestly, no two days are the same - especially in the summer, which is our busiest time of year. I am constantly on the move, whether it’s visiting our teams in action at various events and activations, preparing tenders, attending client meetings to ensure that their needs are being met, or collaborating with the internal team to optimise our overall company performance. It’s a role that demands adaptability, strong communication skills and a deep understanding of our clients’ goals and objectives.
What are the key tasks or projects you are currently working on?
Again, everything is so fast paced in the office at the moment, that I will probably have a different answer when this is published to the one I give you now. We just wrapped a number of activations at Cannes Lions and Silverstone - amongst many others which we received fantastic feedback for.
How do you prioritise your tasks and manage your time effectively?
My focus is on identifying and prioritising tasks that will have the greatest impact on our clients’ success. I begin each day by setting key objectives and aligning with the team so that we are all on the same page. This allows us to hit the ground running and maximise efficiency in achieving our goals.
What are the biggest challenges you face in your role, and how do you overcome them?
I would say that one of the biggest challenges in my role is managing multiple high priority tasks simultaneously. However, I am fortunate to work with a dedicated team at Kru who provide invaluable support. We collaborate and share the workload to ensure everything gets done efficiently. Additionally, I have learned the importance of holding myself accountable and taking a step back to gain perspective. By focusing on the bigger picture, I can prioritise tasks effectively and find solutions to any challenges that arise.
How do you collaborate with other team members or departments to achieve common goals?
Collaboration is key in achieving our common goals. We have regular face-to-face meetings where we discuss strategies, share ideas, and ensure alignment. Respecting each other's time and expertise is crucial, as is fostering a sense of shared ownership. Together, we work as a cohesive team to deliver outstanding results and exceed client expectations.
What do you enjoy most about your role, and what keeps you motivated?
Without a doubt, it is the incredible people that I work with - our clients, our field staff and agency team. Their passion, creativity, and collaboration are inspiring and keep me motivated every day.
Can you share a recent success story or accomplishment that you are particularly proud of?
Absolutely! There are two recent accomplishments that I'm particularly proud of. Firstly, I had the opportunity to speak at a school and introduce students to the world of experiential marketing. It was fulfilling to share my knowledge and inspire young minds to consider a career in our industry. Secondly, our Kru Champions event was a great success. It was a chance to bring together our amazing team members and show our gratitude for their hard work and dedication. Seeing everyone enjoy themselves and feel appreciated was incredibly rewarding.
What advice would you give to someone who aspires to work in a similar role or industry?
My advice would be to prioritise building strong relationships. Consistency and hard work are also crucial, but having a keen eye for detail and seizing opportunities will set you apart and contribute to your success.
