Wednesday 4th May
What else could K be for than drum roll please….. KRU! As a celebration of our letter; the letter K, we have compiled a list of facts and things that after 11 years you may not know about us. Enjoy!
Many of the team in the office actually started out working in the field so we know exactly what it takes to make a campaign great! I myself first started working for Kru Live back in 2011. It was back then working as a brand ambassador for Nickelodeon that I was asked to be a child hand model… I was 21 at the time!
Kelly is our star baker any day and for every birthday, celebration or even just as a treat, she brings in the most amazing cakes you could think of! For Kelly’s birthday we all turned the table with the WHOLE office bringing her in a cake. That was a good day!
Justine once knitted a jumper for her hamster. The hamster ate the jumper and died shortly after, but Justine likes to believe these events are unconnected.
We have been in the same offices in Hurlingham Studios for the past 8 years! We initially started off in one unit and now after expanding to 7 units, we’ve hit the end of the building. We are now planning our next move to our brand new offices in Parsons Green. We must admit, we will be very sad to say goodbye to our lovely local the 8 Bells (often to referred to as the 10 cows because Justine got it wrong for years and it just stuck…)
Once a month we all get together for a Kru Social, which we aptly name our ‘Krucial’. Our last Krucial was to Bogan bingo where our team won 2 out for the 6 prizes going! Go Kru!
We also hold our monthly Kru breakfast where we invite along a few members of staff that have being doing a great job and receiving exceptional client feedback. This gives us a chance to say a personal thank you over a coffee and a bagel. Team Talent always invite along a guest, which is always a huge treat! I must say, watching Mr Airhead turn into Elvis at 8am on a Thursday morning was more of a wake up than the coffee!
Every Friday at 4pm is everyone’s favourite part of the week….fun Friday! Like clockwork, 4pm means prosecco time. If only it was Friday everyday A new addition has made an appearance in our Friday’s in Hettie’s wheel along globe, placing all the drinks in to wheel through the office. Who knew left over event props could have such vital uses?
Once a year we have a company summer away day. Our 2015 away day involved a trip to JB waterski, a watersports resort just outside of London. It was AMAZING! Everyone got involved in knee boarding which in turn involved a whole lot of face planting! After a few goes round, the team started to drop off like fly’s, popping off to the bar in favour of a hot chocolate appose to a mouth full of muggy water. We then all headed to the banana boat where the driver defiantly had it in for us, the highlight of that would have to be the whole team (including Ben and Tom) screaming their heads off, with the odd few shouting faster! Obviously, we all ended up in the water…quite a few times.
